As mentioned, we are in Pelican Point, at the east end of the island. We are only 45 minutes from Freeport (airport code FPO) on the Grand Bahama Island. We suggest that you rent a car for your stay. You have the best of both worlds; away from the tourists, yet not too far to go back into town for nightlife, shopping or the casino! We do have central AC, Satellite TV & now internet access with the use of YOUR laptop. I have 3 queen beds & 2 twin beds. Our home has been updated with new stainless steel appliances & total repaint of the inside & outside of our home. We think you'll just love it, we do !!
Normally, our renters end up falling in love with the serenity of our home & rarely go back into town! Pelican Point has the most coconut trees on the island (we even host an island wide Coconut Festival at Easter each year). We have the most gorgeous beaches, with not a soul or building in site no matter which way you walk! It goes without saying that the snorkeling/diving is the best. We have coral reef life everywhere! One reef after another... literally! Diving trips can be scheduled with dive operators on Deep Water Cay, with pick up service from McLeans Town (10 min. away).
You can arrange for carry-out only Bahamian food from a couple of the women in Pelican Point. We also now have Bahama Johns Rib & Seafood Shack just 4 doors down from our home. He is a fabulous chef & will even cook fish you catch earlier in the day for you! There are 2 casual beachfront restaurants just 15 min. west of our home as well or try Zelma's fantastic bahamian carry-out cooking just 10 minutes down the road in McLeans Town.
We have 2 friends who run fishing, (bone fishing too), bird watching & snorkeling tour businesses in and near Pelican Point. If you should want personal attention in this area they are fantastic guides & have THE BEST trips on the island. They know ALL the places to go that no one else knows about & they're very close to our house! It doesn't get any better than this!
